I woke up this morning and decided that I was goint to get my tattoo.

I had just gotten the last check I will ever recieve from the Midwives, for attending my last homebirth (in michigan) and it was just enough to cover it. What a neat way to commerate it, right?

My work was placed in my heart before it started to beat. I have wept, and wept, but now understand what I have to do and welcome the hardships that come with it.

I know the foolish, I see them beating their heads. I will not be one of them.

I was thrown over the cliffs, my transgressions lost to time. I laid at the bottom, flesh slowly dissolved, feeding the fish you sought, bones left cold and bare. Unknowingly you pulled me up, caught in your net, the sight of my decay to much for your mortal eyes. You could not escape me. The net was strong and you were fast, but compassion makes heroes out of anyone. That night you slept against me, exhausted from your fight. The tears you spilled awoke a long forgotten thirst. I drank until you could give no more, I consumed your flesh, swallowed your heart, my need was no longer present. Together again, this love has conquered the spirit.
